San Diego, CA – The Firestorm Track & Field program traveled to San Diego on Friday for a two-day meet hosted by Point Loma University known as the Ross and Sharon Irwin Invitational. The meet was an opportunity to compete against both GSAC competition, and a variety of NCAA universities.
Highlighting a strong day of performances was recent national champion
Mikhail Browne winning the Triple Jump, and in doing so setting a new program record, and achieving the "A" standard for national qualification. His jump of 49' 4.25" is currently tops in the NAIA.
Thoughts from Head Coach Brian Bell
"Today was a great day to compete with several teams from our conference. The coaching staff and I were very proud of how our team competed. There were many great performances, but Mikhail's school record in the Triple Jump was a highlight."
