Blair and Farrell Earn Academic All-American Honors

Glendale, Ariz.- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2026 CSC Academic All-America Baseball Teams.  Appearing on the list of Academic All-American First Team was pitcher Casey Farrell, and on the Academic All-American Second Team was outfielder Zach Blair for Arizona Christian Baseball.

To be nominated by their College Sports Communicator (aka SID), student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings. 

Farrell, from Warrenville, IL, led the NAIA with the lowest ERA of 1.67, and can be found second on the ACU all-time list in lowest ERA. Farrell finished the season with a record of 9-4, also marking him as tenth on the ACU all-time list for most wins as a pitcher, and was also sixth-most for ACU Baseball of lowest opponent batting average with .226. In his first season with ACU, the junior transfer had the second-most strikeouts on the team with 81 strikeouts. Over 81 innings he pitched, he earned a WHIP of 1.12 including 15 earned runs and 23 walks. 

Blair, a Camas, WA native, topped the Firestorm with a .345 batting average, runs (47), and stolen bases (54). The junior transfer led the NAIA in stolen bases with 54 stolen bases in the 48 games he played, followed by Fisher's Armando Torres who had 53 stolen bases in 48 games played. Blair can be found third on the ACU all-time list in most stolen bases, and fifth on the list of highest stolen bases percentage at .885. He can also be found having fourth-most stolen base attempts with 61 stolen base attempts. 

Head Coach Joe McDonald stated, "Both Casey and Zach earned [Academic All-American] honors through their hard work and dedication in the classroom and on the field. Both are amazing young men and that I am very proud of. I look forward to another year with both of them coming up."
