Phoenix, AZ- Closing out their participation in the 4-Him Classic, Arizona Christian rallied before earning the walk-off 5-4 win on Saturday.  Senior Matt Mara delivered a walk-off single to secure Arizona Christian's victory over College of Idaho.

The Firestorm (5-2) offense got off to early start plating two runs in the bottom of the first inning.  Senior Gary Sheffield, Jr. led off the inning with a double down the left field line.  Senior Adam Wolfe added an additional baserunner by taking a hit by pitch and then swiped second base bringing Mara to the plate.  Mara started the day strong roping a single through the left side scoring Sheffield.  Senior Michael Dunnebecke added the second run of the inning scoring Wolfe on a single.

The Coyotes (1-3) answered in the top of the third inning scoring four runs on six hits.

ACU cut the deficit to one in the bottom of the fifth inning when Sheffield doubled down the left field line for the second time in the game and later scored on a wild pitch.

After being held scoreless in the fifth and sixth inning, the Firestorm found an answer in the bottom of the seventh. Sheffield led off the inning drawing a walk.  Sheffield was then moved to third on a single to right field by Senior Marco Castilla.  Senior Jonathan Nunnally, Jr. knotted up the game at four apiece scoring Sheffield on a single to the shortstop.  Sophomore Brent Smith came into run for Castilla and was scored on a walk-off single to left field by Mara marking the Firestorm's third walk-off win this season.

Senior Dillon Eaves started on the mound throwing five innings allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out three.  Junior River Carbone tossed 1.1 innings allowing one hit while fanning three. Senior Colton Wheeler picked up the win moving to 1-0 on season.

Sheffield continued to spark the Firestorm offense ending the day 2-for-3 with three runs scored and one walk.  Mara also collected a two-hit performance going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

ACU will return to action hosting Westmont College in a three-game GSAC series beginning on Friday, February 2.  Game one will begin at 2:00 pm. on Friday with a doubleheader on Saturday scheduled for 11:00 am.
