Firestorm Win, Nunnally Sets ACU Season Home Run Record

Phoenix, AZ- Arizona Christian Baseball picked up a win on Friday afternoon defeating visitor, Bethesda (CA), 15-5.  Senior Jonathan Nunnally, Jr. launched home run number 13 of the season breaking his single season record he set last year.

The Flames (10-35-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. ACU cut the lead in half before having a six run fifth inning and a four run seventh inning propelling them to the 15-5 victory. The Firestorm (21-30) collected 13 hits on the day.

Senior Dom Rodriguez paced the Firestorm at the plate going 3-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs scored.  Nunnally hit his 13th homerun of the season going 1-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.  Senior Matt Mara finished the game going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Junior Robert Milacki started on the mound tossing 5.1 innings allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits while striking out four.  With the win, Milacki moves to 6-5 overall on the season.  Junior Baylor Giannini, Senior Austin Bright, and Sophomore Cam Sharp all tossed scoreless relief in the win.

The two teams will continue the three-game series tomorrow beginning at 11:00 am at Firestorm Field.  ACU's 12 seniors will be honored in between games.
