Inside the Box Score

  • In the first inning, Smith started it off for the Firestorm with a single through the left side, stole second, and was brought in from a double by Bostedt.  Bostedt came home on a single from Burkey.  Diffley was hit by a pitch and scored on a sac fly from Schwalbe
  • Smith also got on in the second inning and scored on a fielding error.  Bostedt reached on the same fielding error and scored on a single by Diffley.  Jake Sim singled up the middle bring Diffley home
  • In the fourth inning, Burkey tripled to right, Sim reached on a fielding error and stole second, and they both scored on a double from Schwalbe.  He stole third and was driven in by Heckethorn
  • Heckethorn doubled to left center and came home on a single up the middle by Smith in the sixth inning
  • ACU outhit BSU 20-5
 

Thoughts from Coach McDonald

"We got really good pitching today from Aker, Schwalbe, Giannini, and Carbone.   They threw a lot of strikes and stayed ahead in counts trusting the defense behind them.  Offensively, it was nice to see the entire line-up finding barrel after barrel and getting production from all players.  It was a great team win"
