Series Notes:

ACU and LSUA are now tied 5-5 in the all-time series.  Friday night's doubleheader was also the conclusion of the two teams' season series.

Game One:

Game one was all-LSUA, with the Generals totaling 17 hits in the 12-1 victory.  ACU added 12 hits but was unable to convert them into runs.

Justin Ramirez led the way for the Firestorm with three hits and also stole a base, Robby Campillo added a pair of doubles and the game's lone RBI, and Brent Smith added a multi-hit game going 2-for-4.

Andrew Hirsch took the loss and went four innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits.  Trevor McGee threw 2-2/3 innings of relief and allowed six runs on seven hits with three strikeouts, and three relievers combined to throw the final 2-1/3, allowing one run, two hits, and three walks.

Game Two:

The Generals led 5-3 entering the home half of the sixth, and that is when ACU's bats came to life as it would take the lead by plating three runs on three hits, including a two-run home run to tie the game from Manny Villa.

Starting pitcher Brett Aker tossed 5-2/3 innings and allowed five runs on nine hits with one walk and five punch outs in the no decision.  Relief pitcher Anthony Defrancesco threw the final 1-1/3 and allowed just one hit and no runs, striking out three to pick up his first win of the season.

Villa went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and a run scored, Ramirez added a hit and two RBI, Smith went 1-for-3 and added an RBI, and D'Marcus Guillory had one hit in three tries and scored twice.

Thoughts from Coach:

"I was really proud of the way we bounced back from a tough game one to compete and finish the week strong with a lot of energy and a lot of competitive fight in our spirit.  All in all it was a great week against a quality ball club."
