Elliott, Titialii, Kiaunis Awarded All-GSAC

Glendale, Ariz. - A day prior to this year's GSAC Baseball Tournament, three Firestorm players were selected to the 2024 GSAC All-Conference Team. Eli Elliott, Marques Titialii and Kane Kiaunis all earned this distinction with their steady, and, in many areas, conference-leading play throughout the regular season.

Eli Elliott (Pitcher | Glendale, AZ)

Elliott, in addition to his second career All-GSAC honor, was named to the Gold Glove Team and the GSAC Pitcher of the Year. The senior led the conference in cumulative ERA (2.55) and total innings pitched (67.0), and finished the regular season second in total strikeouts (92).

In his 13th start on the mound, Elliott was anointed the single-season strikeout leader for ACU Baseball. His eighth punch out in the series finale against The Master's lifted his total to 91 on the year, passing Dean Jackson's 2016 mark of 90.

Only four weeks prior, Elliott achieved another milestone. In another GSAC series finale, this time at home against Menlo, number eight utilized a masterful 10-strikeout shutout to become the program's career strikeout leader. Elliott left Trevor McGee's (2017-21) 250 strikeouts in the dust and currently sits at 279 entering the 2024 postseason.

Marques Titialii (Outfielder | Seattle, WA)

Titialii made his second All-GSAC team and earned a spot on the Gold Glove Team for the first time in his three-year ACU career. The senior led the conference in total RBI (70) and total home runs (21) in the regular season while also ranking in the top-five in slugging percentage (.762, third), runs scored (57, third), hits (67, fourth) and walks (28, tied-fourth).

The outfielder achieved several milestone moments in the 2024 season, four being record-breaking in the context of ACU Baseball history.

Titialii first established career bests in home runs and RBI. He became the Firestorm home run king less than a month into the season, eclipsing Jonathan Nunnally's (2017-18) career mark of 25 in the second of an eventual five-game season series with Benedictine Mesa. Two weeks later, Titialii became the program's all-time RBI leader against OUAZ, breaking a tie with ACU's hit king Justin Ramirez (2020-23) whose mark was 123.

Next came single-season records in home runs and RBI. Number 11 first surpassed his own single-season home run mark (18 in 2023) in the Firestorm's final home double-header against SAGU American Indian College. Like Elliott, Titialii shattered a single-season record in the series finale with The Master's. One inning after Elliott reset the strikeout mark, Titialii broke his own 2023 RBI mark (69) with an RBI-single.

Kane Kiaunis (Utility | North Plains, OR)

Kiaunis was tabbed All-GSAC in his first season with ACU Baseball. Primarily a third baseman, he posted the Firestorm's second-best batting average (.359), second-most RBI (48) and third-most hits (61) through the regular season. He ranked in the conference's top-10 in runs scored (50, tied-seventh), hits (61, seventh), RBI (48, tied-fifth), doubles (15, tied-fifth) and home runs (12, tied-third).

The junior was one of Joe McDonald's most consistent hitters, recording at least one hit in 34 games. Within those games, Kiaunis had 20 multi-hit performances (six with three hits) led by a season-best 4-for-7 (two home runs, three RBI) against SAGU American Indian College.

Number five also made six mound appearances for the Firestorm. He was credited with a 1-0 record, pitching 10.0 innings to a tune of 5.40 ERA and 11 strikeouts.

Well done gentlemen.

Roll Storm!
