Baseball NAIA Opening Round Starts On Monday

Lakeland, Fla.- Arizona Christian Baseball will look to build on their dominant season as they begin play in the 2025 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round on Monday. The third seeded Firestorm will face off against Central Methodist, the second seed, in the second game of the Lakeland Bracket.

Central Methodist- Tuesday, May 13 at 8:00 AM PST 
Ted A. Broer Stadium, Southeastern University, Lakeland, FL

If win on Tuesday- play on Wednesday, May 14 at 8:00 AM PST
If lose on Tuesday- play on Tuesday, May 13 at 3:00 PM PST

Arizona Christian
The Firestorm (39-14-1) came out in second place in the GSAC tournament after they fell short against Hope International on April 30. ACU won their first two games of the tournament and then lost two games against Hope International. 

The Firestorm's ace, Frank Wierman, threw in game two against The Master's and he pitched for 6.1 innings, threw five strikeouts, two hits, two runs, and four walks. Wierman nearly had a no hitter up until the sixth inning. Trey Tarver slashed his way to .389 (7 for 18) hitting tournament. Jaylen Edmonds was also dialed in as he hit .375 (6 for 16) with six hits and five runs. 
 
Arizona Christian returns to the NAIA opening round after advancing to the World Series last year. ACU went 3-0 in the Lewiston (Ida.) Bracket. They fell 30-13 to Reinhardt and 8-1 to Hope International.

Facing Central Methodist, this will be the first time ACU and Central Methodist will be going up against each other.

The Eagles (35-13) reached the opening round for the sixth time after winning the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament. CMU allowed 27 runs in their four conference games. The Eagles are on an eight-game win streak, with a cumulative batting average of .362 and a slugging percentage of .595.
